Traditional Sense

In the traditional sense, that doesn’t make sense

I can write a rhyme

                   in time

                   with lime

                   or thyme

                   tastes fine

       with wine

                   that’s mine

But in the traditional sense

   that doesn’t make much sense

Or I can link a theme

                      garden

                      nature

                      soil

                      rain

                      worms

                      weeds

                      vegies

But in the traditional sense

   that doesn’t make much sense

So should I write a verse

    which might be obscure

              or perverse

              or worse

Or just stick to prose

   meandering where it wants

              where it goes

              even knows

                             the destination…

Whoops, now I’ve confused the two

              didn’t you?

And in the traditional sense

   that doesn’t make much sense
